Job Description Partner with function supervisor to coordinate workflow for assigned functions that prepare and process medications. Also may prepare and process medications through actions that may entail data entry, and/or resolving customer service issues and/or processing medication through the automation equipment in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Assist with workflow coordination.
Act as mentor to new hires and other pharmacy technicians.
Assist in training new hires and cross training Pharmacy Technicians.
May assist with lead/management responsibilities
Ensure and maintain a safe and clean work environment
Comply with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Certification/licensed/registered pharmacy technician or as required by state law.
previous experience as a pharmacy technician or Long term care pharmacy experience preferred or
data entry experience or
customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills and well developed verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible
Good math and analytic skills
Excellent organization skills and detail oriented
Must understand basic pharmacology; abbreviations, brand and generic comparisons in order to interpret prescriptions for filling.
Ability to maintain composure on the phone when handling customer calls
Education Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
