The Cardiology/Nephrology Clinical Pharmacist II will serve as a leader within the pharmacy division and works closely with multiple pharmacists, providers, nurses, and other staff on the Heart and Kidney Unit (approx. 20 beds). They will be responsible for the inpatient cardiology and nephrology services. Candidates with critical care interest will also have the opportunity to cross-cover the Cardiac ICU (26 beds). Clinical Pharmacist IIs also provide operational support, clinical on call coverage, as well as weekend clinical coverage on a rotating basis. They will be expected to serve as a preceptor for our PGY1, PGY2 pediatrics, and PGY2 oncology residency programs and will participate in various department and hospital wide committees.
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Completion of a four-year pharmacy program in an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
Licensure: Licensed as a pharmacist in the District of Columbia prior to start date. Board Certification must be obtained within one year of hire date.
Other qualifications: Good leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, as well as critical thinking and analytical skills.
