Manning Family Children's is currently seeking Clinical Pharmacist candidates for expansion of services to our Hematology/Oncology teams. As a member of the Pharmacy department, the Clinical Pharmacist will provide pharmacy services to their respective area and work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, appropriate, comprehensive, and cost-effective medication therapy.
Job responsibilities include the following:
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds with the medical team, as applicable
Review drug therapies and apply appropriate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations
Interview and counsel patients and/or families regarding safe and effective medication use
Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines to enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety
Participate in medication use evaluations and formulary management
Serve as a drug information resource for providers, nurses, fellow pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
Detect and document adverse drug reactions, clinical interventions, and medication errors
Serve as a preceptor for the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program and Residency Track Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (RT-APPE) program
Requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
Current licensure or eligible for licensure by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy
Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency AND
Completion of a PGY2 Pharmacy Residency OR PGY1 Pharmacy Residency with hospital pharmacist practice experience (2-4 years preferred)
Manning Family Children's is a 263-bed, not-for-profit pediatric medical center offering a complete range of healthcare services for children from birth to 21 years. With over 40 pediatric specialties and more than 600 pediatric providers, Manning Family Children's is the first and largest full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South. It is the primary pediatric training site for both LSU and Tulane schools of medicine, as well as residency and fellowship programs. Additionally, the pharmacy department is a practice site for three colleges of pharmacy: Xavier College of Pharmacy, University of Louisiana Monroe College of Pharmacy. and William Carey University School of Pharmacy.
