The Cardiology PGY2 program at Bethesda North Hospital is designed to provide residents the opportunity to build upon the skills and knowledge acquired during a PGY1 program to become an independent cardiology pharmacist. Required rotations include Orientation, General Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiovascular ICU I&II, Medical Surgical ICU, Cardiology Rounding Service, Electrophysiology and Interventional cardiology Rounding Service. Elective rotations offered include Nephrology, Pharmacogenomics, Anticoagulation, Emergency Medicine, and Population Health. Longitudinal experiences include education including precepting PGY1 residents and APPE students, code blue team, heart failure clinic, and pharmacy administration including completion of a research project for presentation at national and regional conferences. The residency will also be tailored to the resident’s interests and goals allowing for additional rotations and experiences.
