Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in Internal Medicine. This faculty member will teach on our Kingsville and College Station campuses and provide patient care services at CHI St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in College Station-Bryan, Texas. This position is an 11-month academic appointment (renewed annually) starting in Fall 2026.

St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital is a 235-bed teaching hospital that serves as the anchor facility for the CHI St. Joseph Health System. It offers the community's only Level II Trauma Center for a nine-county area, and it is supported by award-winning surgical and medical services. Designated as a Primary Stroke Center and ACC/AHA Accredited Chest Pain Center, St. Joseph Health offers specialty clinical services including cardiovascular care, critical care, pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, radiation/oncology, diagnostic imaging, urology, gastrointestinal care, women’s services, pediatric care, and neonatal intensive care.

Clinical responsibilities for this role include the following:

(a) decentralized role, stationed within cardiac progressive care unit;

(b) conducting order verification, real-time medication reviews, adjusting therapy based on patient needs, and providing recommendations for optimal drug therapy;

(c) providing discharge and medication counseling to high-risk patients;

(d) working closely with team during multidisciplinary rounds, including Telemetry MDRs and Stroke Rounds;

(e) providing education and training to staff on medication-related topics;

(f) mentoring and precepting residents in clinical pharmacy skills.

Faculty responsibilities for this role include the following:

(a) teaching and service to the Department of Pharmacy Practice and College of Pharmacy, the profession, and the general public;

(b) scholarly activity, including publication and presentation activities;

(c) education for healthcare providers, students, and residents.

Faculty rank and salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. The position is available immediately, and applications will continue to be accepted until the position is filled. Academic rank and salary are negotiable and commensurate with experience. Informal inquiries are welcome.

The successful candidate must have a PharmD or other professional pharmacy degree from an accredited college/pharmacy school in the US. The candidate must be licensed as a pharmacist in Texas or be eligible for licensure by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. The candidate will be expected to obtain their preceptor license and maintain qualifications to be a pharmacy residency preceptor. The candidate will be expected to develop a clinical practice at St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital. Preference will be given to candidates with a PGY2 residency in Pharmacotherapy or Internal Medicine.
